Rebirth of Self

Using linoleum I carved an 18x18 narrative about the rebirth of self. From the ashes left by the fire rises the Phoenix stronger than ever before. I added a baby in the womb about to be born. The star in the center is hope. The bats flying from the sides of the baby are the breakthroughs we face in life. There are floating hearts for love and pointed arrows for pain. 

Speaking of pain, I cut myself a few times while carving so pain was involved in the making of this piece. Hope you like it!
